We have codified the events of each mythological tale. Every tale has 5 major arcs. Each arc has a sequence of events. These events culminate into a major event. Here is the mapping of each character’s quest to the major events in their respective mythological tale.

Quest 1: Barbie mirrors Odysseus’ quest for Tranquillity

Barbie’s desire for Tranquillity stems from her need to be free from anxiety & fear. The tale of Odysseus from Greek mythology is the universal quest for Tranquillity.

The tales of Odysseus, Circe, Hanuman & Kans reveal the plot structure of Barbie

Any plot is the quest to fulfil a human desire. And stories consist of multiple desire journeys. Hence a story plot consists of multiple desire journeys.

32 mythological tales are the universal quests for every human desire. Thus, we are able to identify every desire journey in the story. And also, its plot structure.

Number of desire journeys: Barbie uses 4 mythological tales. Barbie mirrors Odysseus’ quest for Tranquillity. Ken mirrors Circe’s quest for Power. Gloria mirrors Hanuman’s quest for Honour. Ferrell mirrors Kans’ quest for Preservation.

Depth of desire journeys: Barbie borrows 44% of Odysseus’ tale whereas Ken & Gloria borrow 24% of the tales of Circe & Hanuman. Ferrell borrows 14% of Kan’s tale.

Interweaving of desire journeys: Barbie’s quest is interwoven with Ken, Gloria & Ferrell. Gloria’s quest is also interwoven with Ferell. Ken’s quest isn’t interwoven with both Gloria & Ferrell. Interweaving multiple quests creates a cohesive story. Interweaving occurs when events of 2 quests occur simultaneously in the story. Here is an example of interweaving the quests of Barbie & Gloria

Mythosis estimates Barbie’s script potential to be 394-482MM in the domestic market

We have developed Mythosis Code from the analysis of Blockbuster, Hits & Flops plot structures. Mythosis Code identifies the ideal Blockbuster plot structure for any story. It uses the ideal plot structure to estimate and unlock a story’s Blockbuster potential.

Mythosis Code:

1. All Blockbusters borrow from at least 3 mythological tales

2. Each character mirrors ONLY ONE tale & borrows at least 35% events

3. The mythological tales used must be interwoven with a minimum score of 0.5

Unique Story plot: Barbie borrows 97% of its events from 4 mythological tales

Characters are consistent: Barbie, Ken, Gloria & Ferrell mirror ONLY ONE tale

Low character depth: Except for Barbie, who borrows 44% of Odysseus’ tale, all the other characters borrow below the threshold of 35%.

Ideal interweaving of quests: Score of 0.67 is above the desired figure of 0.50

Barbie’s script potential score is 0.38. This indicates an audience appeal of 10.9-13.3% of the population. This audience appeal translates to 394-482MM box office revenues in the domestic market.
